To minimise landfill waste disposal, Ernestomeda performs meticulous waste sorting in-house, with separation of over 30 different types of waste . Thanks to this differentiation, it is able to recycle over 90% of the waste generated by its production operations..

Although no water is used in the production process, the company works hard to conserve water through constant monitoring and the adoption of all appropriate measures to reduce waste. In addition, water reserves for firefighting purposes are supported by rainwater collection tanks.

The company uses paper with care; it has adopted a series of actions to reduce its overall use and prefers green-oriented paper and printers . It has also introduced a major “digitalisation project” which generates major savings of paper.

Ernestomeda packages its products almost entirely with recycled and recyclable cardboard, minimising its use of plastic.

The company has introduced the use of products and technologies which reduce the environmental impact linked to the application of paints to articles. In partnership with its suppliers, Ernestomeda is constantly in search of the best technological solutions, in order to eliminate all hazardous substances. In particular, it minimises VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), which are continually monitored through laboratory tests in compliance with the strict standards enforced by the international LEED (GBC) regulations.

Ernestomeda offers its customers a large variety of appliances, favouring those in the highest energy efficiency classes, which generally give energy savings of 20-30% compared to lower category models.
