JEAN NOUVEL FOR ERNESTOMEDA
The 2007 Fuorisalone in Milan saw the presentation of a concept kitchen designed by Jean Nouvel , one of the greatest masters of international architecture, who came together with Ernestomedaand DuPont™ to design and construct the CORIAN® NOUVEL LLUMIERES prototype, a living environment with extremely innovative features.
The project was based on creative lighting solutions and leading-edge home automation technologies, designed for the living, kitchen, bathroom and sleeping areas, all arranged to be communicating and above all with strong reciprocal interaction. The contamination of the spaces and functions of the various zones was the conceptual basis underlying this proposal for real evolution in contemporary home design. Drawing on Ernestomeda’s experience, the kitchen implemented new aesthetic criteria, with futuristic experimentation in materials and finishes. The light effects in the highly translucent Corian® doors transformed the room, creating “luminescent installations” passing through what would normally be solid matter.
“Art should be created for everyday life, not for museums.”
